What’s up guys? I’m Albee. I was raised in the small town of Averill Park, New York, where I grew up with my two wonderful parents and three beautiful older sisters. After graduating high school in 2011, I played two years of junior hockey in Massachusetts where I sustained a severe knee injury that nearly ended my hockey career. It was through the recovery process that I became passionate about health, medicine, nutrition, the mind-body connection, yoga and fitness.
After fully recovering from my surgery, I began my career as a member of the men’s ice hockey team at The University of Massachusetts Boston, where I majored in Exercise and Health Sciences and was fortunate to have an amazing career that brought some lifelong friends. Additionally, I was fortunate to learn from some brilliant minds in the field of medicine and grow my passion for health, nutrition, sports medicine, and disease prevention. Since graduating in 2017, I have continued to expand my interest in medicine through participating as a member of the musculoskeletal research team at Stratton VA Medical Center. Also during this time, I co-found Never Give Up Radio, a podcast geared towards sharing the stories of athletes, military personnel, and others across the country who have struggled with mental health at some point in their careers. The goal of the podcast is to end mental health stigma once and for all! I’ve found the experience with NGU extremely gratifying and encourage you all to check it out!
In my free time, I lift heavy things, cook healthy food that tastes good, run really fast with my dog Simba, spend time with my beautiful girlfriend Teslie and explore as much as possible with my family. As I mentioned above, this site is about connection and I hope you can relate to some of my posts. If you ever want to reach out, I’m always open to making new friends.
I look forward to connecting with you!
